Next Man Up

A ton of credit for our win against the Rams has to go to our offensive line. LA’s defensive line is one of the best defensive units in the league and our o-line played lights out against them. We had no sacks, no turnovers and our backs had a ton of holes to run through. That’s all due to our O-line giving Case time to find the open man and to them being physical in the running game. It is very satisfying to have that kind of win against a good team and through the increase morale we are looking to build on that success for the rest of the season.

We had such a big boost by getting in a rhythm early in the second half against LA. Our offensive mindset is to always keep attacking regardless of the situation. So when we went into halftime with the score 7-7, we knew we had to come out strong in the second half and that’s exactly what we did.

I think this was a big win for us against a really good team, but we can’t allow this to be our biggest win of the year but it is a great piece for us to build on. It gives us a lot of momentum that we can carry over to our Thanksgiving game against the Lions. It has been nice to have an increased role in our offense over the last few games, but I am not going to stop there. I just want to continue to get better and find different ways that I can improve. To me benefiting the team is the number one goal. I know that if I continue to keep that mindset that I can keep producing results that everyone is happy with.

It has been amazing to watch guys all over our team have success as they step into roles when guys go down with injury. Coach Zimmer is always saying that we need every single person on this team and that has shown up in a big way this season. This “next man up” mentality has played a huge role in where we are in the standings. Our motto of “play together, stay together” is helping to make this team who we are.
